In honor of Barbie's 65th anniversary, Heinz UK and Mattel unveiled the Heinz Classic 'Barbiecue' Sauce, an unusual partnership that truly turned heads.
The condiment mashup that none of us realized we needed, but clearly asked for, is a special sauce, a sort of hybrid of vegan mayonnaise and barbecue sauce. And duh, It's Barbie pink!
If you thought that was all, In August of last year, Heinz UK teased the sauce on Instagram with a bottle of, you guessed it, tomato 'kenchup'
"We’re always looking for ways to innovate and give our fans what they want, and we’re thrilled to be able to bring this iconic partnership with Mattel to life" says a source from Mattel.
Heinz is offering the first 5,000 bottles of the "smoky sauce of the season" for sale on its website as of right now! Heinz notes that although the sauce will initially only be sold in the UK and Spain, it may eventually be made accessible in other areas in the coming future!
No word on when Kenchup will join the party. But it is Barbie’s world, after all. We’re just living in it!
