Hello friends! Can you believe that it is the last day of July? I seriously cannot. This summer has flown by. Well, this is the summer of “Yes” and thus I’m trying to live every moment to the fullest. With that in mind I had probably one of the most best weekends of the entire summer in New York City.

I went to New York with a few of my friends from college to attend the national conference for an organization I'm involved with at school. We took the discount Big Bus (which shall remain nameless, I'll just say its always an experience if you feel me) and omg I spotted the CUTEST guy at the bus stop. He was kind of far away from me, I'd say about 5 feet. Also he was wearing sunglasses so I wasn't sure if he wanted anyone to talk to him, you know? Then I went on Twitter and asked you guys if I should say hi.

Obviously you guys said yes...

Well once the bus arrived there was some commotion and I lost track of sunglasses boy. I ended up NOT saying hi, I know, but I seriously thought about it I swear. Come on though, did you really expect me to? I mean I've lived my entire life by the motto, if a guy is interested he'll talk to you. I never hit on guys because I don't want to look desperate. Am I crazy? Or maybe I am just old fashioned? I would LOVE your advice! Tweet me: @alipannoni

And for all my fella Discount Big Bus peeps, I'd thought I'd let you know that Amtrak announced plans last week that they are creating a new train that would take you from D.C. to New York in 94 minutes! Wowza!!! Maybe I can finally put my bus days in the past....

Anyway, here are a few highlights from my trip:

I almost got attacked by a squirrel! This guy sitting next to me on a bench in Union Square had apparently trained this squirrel that was sitting in his lap eating nuts from his hand. I didn't realize this when I sat down. Then all of a sudden the squirrel goes crazy and jumps onto the bench approximately 6 inches from me. Everyone started taking videos because it was so close and they thought it was going to jump on me. Boyyy, would I have freaked! I would have become a YouTube star!  But that didn't happen.

Here's a video of this evil squirrel:

I also went to the top of the Empire State Building for the first time (even though I've been to New York dozens of times). It was seriously the most magical experience of my entire life. I cried. Actually. And I was with people I had never met before.

I was slightly disappointed when I reached the top and Ryan Gosling wasn't down on one knee, starring at me and proposing, but what can you do....Take a video for you guys!!!

Just wanted to say hi while I was up there. Ignore my awkward stare and facial expressions. There was about 100 people up there jam packed and they were all staring at me. Also, the guard was giving me a, "What the hell are you doing, stop this right now face," while filming. Whatever. Haters gonna hate.

Alright. I love you guys. Let me know what you think about my dating philosophy!
