I hope this made you smile!
Hello you guys! I am back after an extended hurrication. First off, I’d like to say how lucky and thankful I am that our area did not get hit that hard by that mean Sandy. My thoughts are with everyone in New Jersey and New York as they go through the recovery process.
Here’s a recap of my time during Sandy:
My hurrication was fabulously unproductive. Friday through Saturday night I went to the beach to attend the Sea Witch Festival with my family in Rehoboth. But, you know, that ended early because of the worst hurricane to come to the region like ever, which kind of sucks. It was weird because the Sea Witch festival brought in THOUSANDS of people to Rehoboth. This was where they originally thought the hurricane would make landfall, so there were also all these weather people there too. They were all trying to be really serious and everyone was in the background like “Woooo HOO, Pre-Hurricane Party! Let’s drink!”
That was until they had a mandatory evacuation which forced everyone out. All I got to say is THANK GOD because if it did touch down in Rehoboth and all those people were there then that would have been tragic.
I spent all day Sunday preparing for the storm. I went to three different stores to find water and still didn’t have any luck finding ANY! Not one bottle! Thank god I had some Mountain Dew stockpiled at home.
At night I went to a Hurricane party with some friends. So much fun! But after that, I hunkered down in my house and didn’t leave till this morning (Wednesday).
On Monday I literally sat in front of the computer for 14 hours because I was anticipating that the power was going to go out any second and I wanted to use up all that electricity before I didn’t have any. I also didn’t really want to get into any projects or assignments online, just to get the power cut right in the middle, so there I sat, 14 hours, absorbing the interwebs. The power never went out, by the way
But, I found SO MANY INTERESTING THINGS! For example, I went on to Amazon and closed my eyes and clicked around. This is one of the things I landed on, a $30,0000.00 autographed photograph of Django Reinhardt. This was really weird because I’m actually studying this dude in my Jazz History class (creepy Internet). For those of you who are unfamiliar, he’s this REALLY famous guitar player.
I think that’s really cool, but $30,0000.00 for a picture with some ink? I’m thinking that’s a little high. Plus, how do I know that some dude just didn’t just sharpie this thing to raise the price $29,995.00? My tweet from Gavin DeGraw was FREE! And I know he actually sent it. His account is certified!
Have you seen these pics from this haunted house in Canada that I found on Jezebel. These people are GEEKING OUT!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
While this was all happening I watched the news for literally 14 hours straight (except for a one hour break to watch Game of Thrones with my brother which was really weird). If you are from the Baltimore area you may have seen the awesome Lowell Melser on WBAL giving reports from Ocean City, Maryland in #goggles. It was so great. Lowell is such a beast. He even got #goggles trending on Twitter. And when he heard people had turned his reports into a drinking game he responded on-air saying, “I understand that I have turned into a drinking game on Twitter, all I got to say is drink Apple Cider.” LOL
Last year during Hurricane Irene, WBAL had Sheldon Dutes giving the reports from Ocean City which was equally as awesome. So I had to ask on Twitter, who would you rather, Sheldon Dutes or Lowell Melser?
The results were tied (and rightfully so).
Around 10 p.m. I drank a Mountain Dew to stay awake because I could NOT miss Bravo Andy’s Hurricane Party on Watch What Happens Live at 11 p.m.!
It was HILARIOUS guys. If you haven’t started Watch What Happens Live yet, you need to because Andy Cohen is HILARIOUS!
Check out a clip:
The only thing was after I drank the Mountain Dew I couldn’t sleep! So I stayed up until 4 a.m. roaming the web and watching weird documentaries like this one on Hulu.
Tonight I’m doing all the homework I didn’t do yesterday and celebrating Halloween/One of my BFFs 21st Birthday!!!! So if you want to see some funny tweets about ghosts check out my Twitter @alipannoni.
Love you! What are you being for Halloween? I want to know!
Also, I would really appreciate it if you voted for the Interns blog in the Mobbies! The link is here!
